If you want to visit the Charlie Chaplin Museum, you do not have to go to London, you will find it in Switzerland. It was here that, after 15 years of planning, a museum was opened, dedicated only to this phenomenal comedian who was born in London.
Chaplin World, as the museum is called, will introduce Charlie Chaplin’s life and work. Located in a park on the Manoir de Ban plot, in the village of Corsier-sur-Vevey near Lake Geneva. You wonder why this artist’s museum is here? Chaplin spent the last 25 years of his life here, along with his wife and their eight children. The exhibition includes short films, paintings, photographs, but also sculptures.
There are over 30 wax statues that do not only include Chaplin, but also the people he cared about. There is, for example, the statue of Albert Einstein. Charlie Chaplin and his wife were forced to leave the United States in 1950, during the McCarthy era, when the actor was suspected of communist sympathies. He died on Christmas Eve in 1977, at the age of 88. If it belongs among your favorites, you should definitely visit the museum, it was only open last year.
